Rent a sloop with SAIL Amsterdam? After the disappointing year 2020 in which sail was canceled due to Corona, it will finally be party time again in 2025! After 10 years of waiting, you can finally enjoy SAIL Amsterdam again!
This means that Tall ships from all over the world will come together in Amsterdam. In addition to historic sailing ships, there will traditionally also be several naval ships to admire. The event has its origins in 1975 when the capital of our country celebrated its 700th anniversary. Due to the great success of the event, it was then decided to repeat SAIL every 5 years.
During previous editions, there were up to 2 million visitors, both via the busy quays and on boats.
At the SAIL INN, the ships enter the North Sea Canal via the lock at IJmuiden and then sail past Spaarnwoude towards the Amsterdam IJ. Here the ships will drop their proverbial anchor to stay in Amsterdam for 4 nights. Every evening the day ends with a beautiful fireworks show. Extra special with the decor of the historic ships. At the end of the week the SAIL OUT will take place, when the ships will leave the city in a procession of often 12 kilometers long to find their way back to the oceans.
Amsterdam has an incredibly rich history, much of this history has its roots in the maritime world. During Sail we will have a chance to relive this history.

We have various options regarding arrangements and boat trips.
For example, we have planned the entire day for SAIL INN per group of guests. You will then be spoiled with snacks and cooled drinks all day long. And that while we will sail from Haarlem to Amsterdam together with the beautiful Tallships. During the other days we will enter the now fresh water of the IJ to experience the splendor of the Tallships. SAIL OUT will also be a full-day program in which we will sail from Amsterdam to Haarlem.
